Intro: FIFTYONRED
So this is the first. My editting sucks. I was going to make this just the start of a really long movie, but I ended up cutting it off when I decided to have serveral episodes. I also planned to put this introdution at the beginning of each episode, but the extra 30 seconds didnt seem necessary for 8 minute episodes. So instead, I put about 10 seconds of intro on each one. I also debated on whether to include Paul and Kris, which I was going to, but did not do so after seeing they'd only be in Part 6: The Finale. The song is "Bad Reputation" by Joan Jett, courtesy of "Freaks and Geeks", a major influence in this series. Since this was suppsoed to be a transition into the first epsidoe, you can see that my introduction is actually the very first seconds, and it ended up transitioning pretty well. Saeed's scene, on the other hand was taken from the very last minute of the series. I guess that's just what I remembered most of him, when he was all confused from his concussion. We called Saeed the hippie because... well you'll see. We dubbed Laith Hockey in episode 4, actually. There we put his full name and a small etymology of Hockey. We derived it from khaldoon, which sounds like cockdoom the way our roommate says it(you'll see that Laith is my roommate in the end of episode 2), which translated to cartoon, hawktomb, and then Hockey. Dong! is actually spelled with an exclamation because that's what our band name was prior to the trip when we played Rockband for the first time. We're just used to yelling at him... "Dong!" And that mark scene strangely turns me on.

Part 1: Chapter 9: The Beginning
Chapter 9? Yea, Mark explains that in the car. This is actually my least favorite episode because my editting is nub, cameraing sucked, and there was so much bullshit video. Just don't get bored, it gets better. There was actually a lot more footage on looking at the engine. They couldn't find out how to check the oil (we're fucked lol). I feel like I rushed into Avril Levine too quickly, but that's alright I guess. I was contemplating actually taking out that whole "screen will flip" thing, but I kind of like how it showed up so many times. And that's also why the whole series starts out upsidedown. I think I meant to take out that first closeup of Saeed, it really didn't do much. Man, I get dizzy watching this episode. When Mark says "oh shit, son. we gotta move the car", that's something you gotta know about Saeed's crib. I'm never allowed to park on his damn driveway for some reason. I like when The Calling comes on with us talking in the background. It had a nice warm feeling. Kinda homo for a buncha doods but that's okay. While this song plays, the cameraing sucks. And everyone keeps asking me who was taping it. In order to save face, I'm not going to point fingers, but just know it wasn't me! I took out some good soundbites from there too, like stuff about crackdealers and Watchung. Something like that. I also took out about an hour of picking an iPod and getting that shit to fucking work. And then I added that "go fuckyourself" from saeed. The pitch black scene, I thought, was necessary to show our struggles. It's really all we had about it since people were sleeping in the back. I was driving like 80mph and recording at the same time. Too bad I didn't know the camera couldn't see me. I love how The Beatles play in the black. Two of their best songs. As a disclaimer, I'm no racist. We're just used to calling Mark black. He's Guyanese. And of course, I close with the joan jett.
Music: "Complicated" by Avril Levine, "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling

Part 2: The Arrival
This episode starts the tradition of the one word titles. What you guys don't know is that Saeed almost drove onto the sidewalk haha. Remember, I won't get a ticket! And the next transition with the Joan Jett was a pretty good one. This next music vid part is actually the first one that can really be called a music vid. I think the technique was alright, but I don't like what I had to work with. This is probably one of my favorite songs in the entire series, though. And then we skipped through half an hour of strolling through Dong's apartment. We have a little teaser with The Strokes intro, but no follow through. I also hate how we downed the whole "someone's living in my house... who's stuff is this?" because that was hilarious in real life. For future reference, we actually didn't blame Dong for the ticket. I hardly yelled at him. I just had him take care of it for me and asked everyone else to pay since I was on the gas. Afterwards, I loved The Beatles segment... so fitting for LSD Mark. You got me and Hockey practicing "one year six months" by Yellowcard. We actually didin't know we were being taped. So if you guys think we sounded bad then, there's about half an hour more where we were really horrible. I like the part where we vote because it starts out with the viewer not knowing what the question is, then they find out. Plus, we get to see Mark shirtless. I think Laith was just being nice in giving me a vote. It was also too bad that we didn't have on tape his first bed. Before Dong gave him a blowup mattress, sleeping bag and pillow, he tried to accomodate himself with clothes. If I remember right, he forgot a towel too. I wonder how that worked out.

| Part 3: The Awakening
Ah. This is a special episode. Somehow I woke up first, and I don't look that tired. This entire episode was actually one really long shot, but I cut it down to shorten it. Trust me, it takes forever to wake up four guys. They're lucky I didn't elbow drop them. I couldn't, I was the guest, not the host. What a song to feature though. This entire clip was also not going to be its own episode. It was supposed to be part of "The Experience", but since there was about 2 hours of raw footage, I couldn't afford to add this whole part. That was when I was still uploading onto YouTube. I think it worked out alright. The episode actually didn't have a beginning soundbite. And the final screen is white instead of black.

Part 4: The Experience
This is probably my favorite episode. I just feel really close to it because it took me the longest to do. It features four music videos, three short length and one full length, which is the longest that a song plays in the whole series. I like how it starts out on Hockey, and it's one of the best sound bites. There was just a lot of footage before actually leaving. Who knew Dong would take so much time to get some damn directions. And we still got fucking lost. I cut our little fassion show with our skii gear for the Chemical Romance song. I feel like I cut into the Weezer piece too quickly, but I think the video was done well, especially at the beginning. I break continuity for the first time by showing the helmet and hocky flick after the video. Both were crucial, and you get to see some foreshadowing for the first time too ha. I like watching the next scene, for some reason, of us arguing on whether to buy food there or not. Damn. For at most four bucks. Shit. I think I completely shutdown the debate when I said, "then I'll be the one paying twenty-five for gas." Alright, maybe not twenty-five, but come on! four bucks! I actually paid a total of seventy-five dollars for gas this trip, not including the initial tank. I filled it up twice after that, once when the gas light was on and we were in the middle of hicks town. The last time Hockey actually paid for me. Thanks, man! In case you couldn't see what was going on in the bathroom, I actually put the camera of the toilet door while Hockey was shittin. Too bad my angle was off! In the Switchfoot video, I finally use video effects with the overlay. This is a pretty decent video, but the content isn't that great. I'm starting to think I use fast-motion too much. And this is the only time in the series that I put two songs back-to-back. But this next one is probably my favorite video. I mean, come on, we're out, boarding, having a great time, great song... I was debating whether to use this song or not because it's got nothing to do with boarding, but it's just a really great feel. You also get to see a cameo of... Jessica Alba! Yea, inspired by "Fightclub", she's in exactly one frame. I actually messed up my knee really bad. I still feel it now and it's been two weeks. Just don't roll down the hill. And then if you look closely, Saeed hits my hand with his board. And luckily I was off camera because that shit hurt like fuck. I cheated on the road back too. That clip's actually from the first episode, but I need a transition back. the last scene was a last minute add-on. it was actually supposed to be in another episode along with the blackjack and Rockband scenes called "The Mania". But I ended not doing that after "The Creation" ended up being so long. This was in the middle of our "Freaks and Geeks" fest where I noticed that in one of those "...previously on f&g" they showed a scene that we had not scene. Dong was like, "well maybe it was a deleted scene." Are you serious?? So we went back and we found out we've been skipping eps. Mark was on the controller skipping the intro and it happened to skip fifteen minutes too. And all this time, I was praising mark for such great remote controlling...

Part 5A: The Creation Part 1
In my opinion, this episode has the best opening. It just smoothly makes its way in on the blackjack table with Hockey on the camera(he gets lucky as hell too btw). And the music is perfect in the back. Ty Floyd. The episode itself wasn't that good unless you were there. It's got so much talking. Saeed self-footages are never focused on his face. Maybe that's just his style. This next scene actually breaks continuity too. This was when we were going out to eat prior to practicing blackjack. It was going to be part of "The Mania" too, but that didn't work out so I tagged it in this episode where it fits. Throughout the series, you hear me asking about seafood several times. That's because I'm allergic. In case you're wondering why the scene with those two girls are there. I left that in because I didn't know why either. Saeed had like a minute of just filiming those girls, and I have no idea why he'd do that(pervert). I still don't get the next line. Hide what money? The whole thing with this big bet was because we realized that we were too poor to be playing in this casino. My brother, who is great at these gambling games, warned us that if we showed up on a friday night, we probably wouldn't have a fun time. I mention in the first episode that we should get our own blackjack table for fun, but on this friday night, the minimum bet for blackjack was $25, and it was full. So this was pretty much our solution. On the Hockey-died-joke, it's a F&G allusion. And fuck Dong with his black... bitch. I can't believe it took us so much time to deal money, but it was so fitting that The Who was singing, "Teenage wasteland..." ha. In this next part, not only is the video speeded 5x, but so is the sound, which is why we sound like chipmunks. But that's exactly what we sounded like after getting out of the mood - just random bullshit. And Saeed seems to have some obsession with the dood makin the faces. Other than, "you wanna just get kicked out and leave", Mark's "just put one on 13" was the best idea of the night. I was actually done with the first scene of the second part of "The Creation" when I realized that the video was way too long. So I turned back a scene and tagged on the 2bcontinued. I like that.

Part 5B: The Creation
I recorded that "last time on fifty" at home. It sucks haha. I liked the scenes though because they are the most pointless, yet awesome scenes from the last episode. And the soundbite was deceptive. Of course, we've got the classic Queen in the back while Hockey does his awkward squid. Man, we're such nubs. The Kearney song gives it such a relaxing feel to end a tense(as I desperately tried to portray) night. And Saeed has the saddest monologue of the series during this song. I like how it fades out in the car too, same way the series started. Then when you see Hockey, you know something's gone wrong. But yea, that was a tiring three hour drive back. Listened to The Carpenters the whole time. They're pretty good. I swear, one more car scene and they would've had a music video on fiftyonred. Too bad you guys didn't get to hear Dong give me directions on the way there though. When he says turn left, turn right. When he says go 0.6 miles, go 24.8. If you can't see, I'm pretty grumpy when tired. Mark is stoned when tired. Dong goes through enlightenment. Saeed gets super hyper. Paul curls into fetal position and shreaks. Look at Saeed go. It's freaking six in the morning. I gave Dong one serious, "are you serious??" look. He said you can buy Rockband at Burger King! The Dong-on-a-chair scene was actually like thirty minutes long of him just sitting there. They didn't even talk. after Saeed's goodnight was supposed to be the end, but I added the next coupla scenes after "The Mania" was taken out. If you're wondering what they were actually playing to, it was Blitzkreig Bop. We end on another unfinished story, which is going to be the first scene of the next ep. it's the only repeated footage in the series, really.

Part 6: The Finale
So this is the last one. I know you're supposed to take the most time on the last one and make it an awesome finale, but I really had the rush this one through because it was starting to interfere with my school work. But I mean it's not bad. So here's yet again another scene of us walking through the apartment and town. I don't particularly like the video, but I love this song. And I remember this being the best walk, too. We're loud as hell in town at 4am after beating Rockband about to meet up with two of our guys. We were all kinda wired. I just like listening to Paul talk. It's just weird. And I was trying to hype up his reaction to us getting Rockband, but he actually didn't say anything. And yea, I lied about going to Sonic. Still gotta do that. You see how tired I am in the next scene... It's been a long vacation. Paul, though, has the energy to hump an elevator door. Not the best transitions, but I got to note how much I like this next video. It's so liberal. I've got arguably one of the best songs of all time mixed with raw footage that's cut only like twice. And for the first time since the first episode, you've got the song louder than our dialogue. It just really captured the friendly mood of the day, of the last day out far from home. I like this next part because I actually wasn't there and I didn't have to record. you really grow to hate hearing yourself talk after listening to it so much. I had to cut out the part where Saeed says he's happy he went to the care center and how the appointment went. The video was fucked up and I didn't take the time to fix it. Acetaminophen... is tylenol by the way. The next scene, I like how it just didn't cut to my face. Yay for authenticity. Here's the scoop on the inside jokes at the end. Mark's "Aw yeah!" is an allusion to my and Laith's roommate. "Titty's" had no inside joke. "Chris is gay because he swallows" refers to Paul and Kris's car ride. They were asking each other how they pop their ears. Kris swallows and Paul opens his mouth real wide. Saeed's "wish I never done it" line was a reference to Freaks and Geeks. And of course... Fifty on red. Thanks again to everyone for a great trip. Thanks to artists who don't know I ripped their shit. Peace.

Aftermath:
Ride home was a bitch in the snow. Got back at 6am. We never had that Rockband war. Dong and Mark took care of the ticket. Saeed's iPod player got fucked up hardcore on the way back from turning stone casino. Don't know if he even knows. No one can wait to go boarding again.
